Weingut Tement, Kalk & Kreide 2022

Weingut Tement are one of Austria's most exciting producers. They believe in single vineyard farming, and allowing each different vineyard to shine rather than blending together grapes from different sites. A lot of effort, but an essential part of their philosophy of making world-class wine. Weingut Tement have been organic certified since 2007, so what you see in your glass is a true authentic Austrian gem. Kalk & Kreide 2022 is Weingut Tement's take on a Sancerre. Made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grown in calcareous, limestone soils, it is gorgeously refreshing, with notes of salty lemon, flint, elderflower and fresh gooseberry. The palate is nicely textured and mineral, with a bright level of acidity carrying the long finish. A great wine to pair with goats cheese or poultry.
